21/05/2010.- another year, the Youth field working with Merlin Productions to celebrate the eighth edition of Cinemálaga, a short film contest hosted by the Plaza Mayor shopping center from 22 May to 5 June. The activity has been launched today by the Department of Youth Councillor, Mario Cortes, the area director, Louis Green, the director of Plaza Mayor, Juan Rafael Perez Luque, and the festival director, Domingo Sánchez.

works contributing to the contest to choose three main prizes: a first prize of 1,200 euros, a second prize of 300 euros, and a special prize of the public equipped with 300 other euros. The three winning works will receive a trophy. Likewise, the jury awarded special mentions various economic unattended for Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Original Score.

This initiative has been running as an exhibition platform for young filmmakers that seek to make themselves known. Besides the short film festival, various activities are organized parallel aimed at bringing together all ages world cinema:


- "Cinexpresión" are some cultural events for children and youth whose goal is to teach children 3 to 16 years to express themselves through film, with public workshops and weekend workshops for schools on weekdays.

- "Cinespray": In this activity, 30 graffiti artists compete with each work, with the theme of the posters of the 30 short films selected for the final. The completion of the work will be outdoors. There will be three prizes: the first 300 euros, 150 euros the second and third will receive a kit graffiti.

- "Cinemoción" are two gymkhanas who base their tests and quizzes in the world of cinema. The activity consists of a board where there will be clues, puzzles, characters provide clues or objects to playing up to the last track. The prize consists of 3 tickets, one per participant to attend free of charge to Helm Film Plaza Mayor.
